1. While wearing a PFD:
      Jump into water and swim 25 yards.
      Assume the Heat escape lessening posture (HELP).
      Demonstrate the Huddle cold-water survival technique.
  2. Demonstrate:
      Reach assists including arm, leg, and towel reaches, and pole or shepherd's crook assists
      Throwing a rescue tube or ring buoy to someone at least 25 feet out in the water
  3. In deep water:
      Tread water for 3 min.
      Stomach float for 3 min.
      Back Float for 2 min.
      Feet-first surface dive.
      Head-first surface dive and recover an object from the pool bottom.
  4. Jump in deep water clothed.
      Tread water and remove shoes and pants.
      Inflate your shirt and float while preparing your pants.
      Inflate your pants and use them to float for one minute.
  5. Continuously swim 200 yards Use at least three of the following five strokes for 50 yards:
      front crawl
      backstroke
      sidestroke
      breaststroke
      elementary backstroke.
  6. Participate in a skill orientation and an open activity for three of the following aquatics activities:
      Group water game
      swim race
      diving
      snorkeling
      Red Cross Junior Lifeguard
      scuba
      stand-up paddle boarding
      boardsailing
      canoeing
      kayaking
      rowing
      sailing
      peddle boats
      water skiing
      wake boarding
  7. Select a trooper with Apprentice or better swimming that is willing to review your knowledge and second your motion to the court of honor for your qualification. If no trooper is available the Troop Master can review your knowledge and second your motion.
